Soccer Game Preview: Timpview vs. Maple Mountain

The Timpview Thunderbirds will square off against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Timpview fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Salem Hills last Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Skyhawks by a score of 1-0. The defeat continues a trend for Timpview in their meetings with Salem Hills: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Cedar Valley who was credited with the win last Thursday. The Aviators got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Maple Mountain's three.

Timpview's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Maple Mountain, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Timpview beat Maple Mountain by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-2. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
