Softball Recap: Wheatland Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wheatland put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Rock Springs TIGERS with a sharp 10-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 on Friday.

Sophie Meyer made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Meyer was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Camryn Mickelsen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Delaney Aurich was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Wheatland's record now sits at 3-0. As for Rock Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.

Wheatland will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Thunder Basin on May 2. As for Rock Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-3 victory against Torrington on the 12th.
