Softball Preview: West Lincoln Bears vs. Pisgah Dragons

West Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Pisgah recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bears will square off against the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. West Lincoln will be strutting in after a win while Pisgah will be coming in after a loss.

West Lincoln took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Raleigh. The win was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caroline Hedgepeth made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaylee Wallace and Ryleigh Purdy did most of the damage at the plate: Wallace scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Purdy scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Baleigh Griffith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
