Coeur d'Alene has gone a perfect 10-0 against Post Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. Coeur d'Alene is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Two weeks ago, Coeur d'Alene was able to grind out a solid victory over Sandpoint, taking the game 7-3.
Coeur d'Alene got a big performance out of Kyndal Bridge, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Bridge has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Bridge wasn't the only one making solid contact: Coeur d'Alene kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandpoint only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Post Falls ultimately got the result they hoped for two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lewiston 22-20. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 9.8 runs per game.
Jaya Felix was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sienna Williams, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Coeur d'Alene pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.1 runs this season. As for Post Falls, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Coeur d'Alene has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .537. However, it's not like Post Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Coeur d'Alene was able to grind out a solid victory over Post Falls when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 9-5. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
