Softball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

Winthrop fell victim to Monmouth Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Ramblers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Winthrop now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Monmouth Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Winthrop will face off against rival Spruce Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monmouth Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
