Basketball Recap: Harrison Find Success

Cheyenne Mountain came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Harrison, but Nadia Turnipseed wouldn't allow it. The Harrison Panthers walked away with a 41-33 win over the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks on Thursday thanks in part to Turnipseed, who posted 24 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Turnipseed is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least six every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Cheyenne Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maya Stepan dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Stepan a new career-high in points.

Harrison now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Harrison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 39-18 victory against Woodland Park on the 13th. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-25 win against Banning Lewis Academy on the 13th.
