The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rancho Alamitos, who took down 605th ranked Rancho Alamitos, 38-0.
Los Amigos moved up to 671 from 779 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Garden Grove. The Lobos were able to make the jump by beating the Vaqueros 38-0.
Santiago's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andy Tang threw for 82 and one touchdown and Jesse Echaury had 47 yards receiving. On the ground Michael Arteaga chipped in 187 yards. Franklin San Nicolas helped Santiago's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Matt Culbert of Rancho Alamitos is the league leader in passing yards this season with 516. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, Los Amigos' Gerardo Saldivar has rushed for 938 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Al Tran. The La Quinta star has 11 catches for 284 yards.
Carl Agnew's team's Saldivar needs only 62 yards against Garden Grove next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Lobos take on the Argonauts. Los Amigos is in second place, while Garden Grove is in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Lobos take on Willy Puga's team. Los Amigos has allowed 82 points this season, while the Argonauts have given up 119. The Lobos allowed 0 points last week as they topped Mike Enright's team.
Garden Grove led Garden Grove in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on La Quinta.
