Baseball Recap: Jay County Takes a Loss

Jay County fell victim to Western and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Saturday.

This is the second loss in a row for Jay County and nudges their season record down to 10-14. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Western, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Jay County and Western are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Patriots will face off against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western, they will challenge West Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
