Basketball Game Preview: Sheyenne Mustangs vs. Red River Roughriders

The Sheyenne Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Red River Roughriders at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Sheyenne is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Sheyenne ended up a good deal behind Moorhead and lost 69-52.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Red River sidestepped Fargo North for a 58-56 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Roughriders.

Red River is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Sheyenne, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Sheyenne suffered a grim 70-45 defeat to Red River when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Sheyenne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
