Softball Recap: Beebe Victorious

Beebe won the last time they faced Carlisle and things went their way on Monday too. The Badgers skirted past the Bison 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Badgers.

Paydon Wiles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Beebe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frankie Caldwell, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Beebe hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.

Beebe's record is now 12-7. As for Carlisle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beebe will challenge Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.84 runs per game on average), something the Badgers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carlisle, they will square off against Harmony Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bison's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
