Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Bloomfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Aztec Tigers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since March 29th.

Trae Woods made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Troy Jaramillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bloomfield pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Aztec, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.
