Soccer Game Preview: Elk Grove vs. Sheldon

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd are taking a road trip to challenge the Sheldon Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Elk Grove's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 11 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Elk Grove's offense. They lost 5-0 to Cosumnes Oaks on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 833rd, while the Wolfpack are ranked 252nd).

Meanwhile, Sheldon's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Monterey Trail by a score of 1-0. The Huskies just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Sheldon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for Elk Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9-2.
