Softball Recap: New Bern Christian Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

New Bern Christian Academy's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Community Christian on Thursday. New Bern Christian Academy blew past the Gramercy Christian Warriors 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-0 back in March.

Samantha Argento was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Argento was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, New Bern Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Lola Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shelby English also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

New Bern Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.2 runs. As for Gramercy Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, New Bern Christian Academy will be playing at home against Faith Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Conquerors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.57 runs per game on average), something New Bern Christian Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. Gramercy Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
