Baseball Game Preview: Edisto Cougars vs. Swansea Tigers

The Edisto Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Swansea Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Edisto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Edisto took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Bamberg-Ehrhardt.

Ryder Bingham was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Hayden Turner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Edisto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Swansea made sure to put some runs up on the board against Newberry on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Edisto now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Swansea, their record is now 17-5.

Edisto suffered a grim 22-8 defeat to Swansea when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
