Martinsville was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Greenwood on Friday. The Martinsville Artesians were the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over the Greenwood Woodmen. The Artesians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Martinsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ruby Murrell, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Murrell is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Addie Curless was another key player, going 7 for 9 on her way to 14 points.

Martinsville was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenwood only posted seven assists.

Greenwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Gardner, who posted eight points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Ford, who had nine points and six rebounds.

With the win, Martinsville broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. As for Greenwood, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Martinsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-37 defeat against Bloomington South on the 10th. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Franklin Community at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th.
