Basketball Recap: West Genesee Takes a Loss

After flying high against Watertown on Friday, West Genesee came back down to earth. The West Genesee Wildcats fell just short of the Christian Brothers Academy Brothers by a score of 54-51 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Brothers are ranked 124th).

West Genesee dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Christian Brothers Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Genesee will take on Westhill at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they will welcome Cortland at 12:30 p.m. on January 4th.
