Baseball Recap: High Point Baptist Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

High Point Baptist Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Delaware County Christian Knights with a sharp 10-1 win on Monday.

Jake Davenport and Bradon Howe were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Davenport pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Howe pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Davenport scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Howe scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Landon Richard and Paxson Wodicka did most of the damage at the plate: Richard scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Wodicka scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Wodicka has posted since back in March of 2024.

Coming up, High Point Baptist Academy will square off against Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Delaware County Christian, they will face off against Coventry Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
