Basketball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Beats Andrean for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Lafayette Jefferson won the last time they faced Andrean and things went their way on Friday too. The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos strolled past the Andrean Fighting 59ers with points to spare, taking the game 60-42. Given the Bronchos' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Fighting 59ers are ranked 166th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lafayette Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alonzo Clawson-Smith, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and five assists. The match was Clawson-Smith's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devion Penny, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

The win was the fourth in a row for Lafayette Jefferson, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. As for Andrean, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Lafayette Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-39 victory against Griffith on the 27th. As for Andrean, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-38 win against Calumet New Tech on the 27th.
