Basketball Recap: Jada Johnson Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

Massaponax lost to Tuscarora back in February of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Massaponax Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-26 victory over the Tuscarora Huskies. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Massaponax got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jada Johnson out in front who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Savannah Teel, who had five points and six steals.

Massaponax pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Tuscarora, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Massaponax beat Tuscarora by a score of 53-29 on Friday.
