Recap: Lutheran North Mustangs vs. Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish
The Lutheran North Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Gabriel Richard 62-58. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lutheran North in their matchups with Gabriel Richard: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Starrs, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Starrs has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Brown, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Lutheran North has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Gabriel Richard, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5.
Lutheran North will head out on the road to take on Marine City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gabriel Richard won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lumen Christi Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on January 20th.
