Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Takes a Loss

Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. The match between them and the Triton Central Tigers didn't end well, with the Heritage Christian Eagles falling 54-40. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Despite the defeat, Heritage Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Flint posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Lyon, who put up four points and five boards.

Leading Triton Central to victory were Eli Sego and Max Crouse. Sego went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points and five rebounds, while Crouse earned ten points along with six assists and five boards. The contest was Sego's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Grant Long, who scored nine points.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Triton Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Heritage Christian has already played their next game (against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Triton Central has already played their next matchup, a 51-34 win against Milan on the 18th.
