Baseball Recap: Big Sandy Takes a Loss

Big Sandy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against the Lumberton Raiders, falling 11-5. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Daniel Barker and Zach McGallion stepped up to the plate in a big way. Barker scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while McGallion scored a run while going 2-for-2. Barker also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brycen Holifield, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Big Sandy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Lumberton, their record is now 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lumberton, they will take on Port Neches-Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
