Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Hillcrest won the last time they faced Reeds Spring and things went their way on Monday too. The Hornets came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 3-1.

Hillcrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-11.

Lillie Moore paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up 20 kills. Moore got some help from KeAshza Roy and her 34 assists. Nicholette Guavis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hillcrest's victory ended an eight-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-14-2. As for Reeds Spring, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will welcome Carl Junction at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Reeds Spring, they will square off against Springfield Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
