Basketball Recap: Elder Comes Up Short

Elder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 53-43 to the La Salle Lancers. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 42-40.

La Salle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Mclaughlin led the charge by going 5 for 7 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brady O'Connor, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

Elder's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for La Salle, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 11-9.

Elder has already played their next match, a 57-43 defeat against Olentangy Liberty on the 8th. As for La Salle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-38 victory against Turpin on the 11th.
