Softball Recap: Silverton Gets the Win

While Silverton's win against West Albany wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Foxes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Bulldogs on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Foxes in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Brynnlee Dalisky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Brookelynn Hamberger and Jersee Sutton did most of the damage at the plate: Hamberger went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Sutton went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Sutton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Silverton's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for West Albany, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Silverton is set to challenge their familiar foe Crescent Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Albany will square off against rival Dallas on Friday.
