Basketball Recap: Northview Academy Comes Up Short

Northview Academy lost against Carter back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northview Academy Cougars took a 75-60 bruising from the Carter Green Hornets.

Carter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xzaveon Gibby, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists gave Gibby a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chris Cowan, who went 5 for 8 en route to 20 points.

Northview Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Carter, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Northview Academy has already played their next game (against Sevier County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Carter has already played their next contest, a 71-62 victory against Jefferson County on the 21st.
