Preview: Bishop Union Broncos vs. Rosamond Roadrunners

Bishop Union is 7-1 against Rosamond since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bishop Union Broncos will look to defend their home field against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop Union had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Kern Valley on the road to the tune of 43-12. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-0.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Boden St. marie, who punched in two rushing scores, and also threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Austin Powell, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, Rosamond was fully in charge last Wednesday, breezing past Desert 88-20 at home.
Ty'shawn Flowers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 176 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Flowers is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Curry, who picked up 141 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Bishop Union's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Desert and 1-8 California City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.3% over those games). As for Rosamond, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bishop Union against Rosamond in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 37-6 win. Does Bishop Union have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rosamond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
