Basketball Recap: Desert Oasis Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Desert Oasis entered their tilt with Basic on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Basic Wolves by a score of 39-32. While the Diamondbacks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Desert Oasis found their leader in sophomore Kazel Jones, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Atkins-Dowd, who put up six points and five steals.

When it comes to explaining why Basic lost, don't look at Mia Frias. Despite the final result, she earned 19 points. Frias' morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kamilyah (Star) Williams, who had five points.

Desert Oasis' victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Basic, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-4.

Desert Oasis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-36 defeat against Somerset Academy Losee on the 30th. As for Basic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 46-39 loss against Mater Academy East Las Vegas on the 30th.
