Baseball Game Preview: South Point Pointers vs. Wheelersburg Pirates

The South Point Pointers will head out on the road to take on the Wheelersburg Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Saturday, South Point didn't have quite enough to beat Minford and fell 3-2.

South Point saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Lobaldo, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Wheelersburg lost 8-2 to Buckeye Valley on Saturday.

South Point's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wheelersburg, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

South Point suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Wheelersburg when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can South Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
