Baseball Recap: Sam Rayburn Comes Up Short

Sam Rayburn came into this matchup off a tough 13-run loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Honey Grove Warriors by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 10-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Sam Rayburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Robison, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Sam Rayburn and nudges their season record down to 10-4-1. As for Honey Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Sam Rayburn has already played their next match, an 8-3 win against Trenton on the 4th. As for Honey Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-5 victory against Whitewright on the 5th.
