Softball Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. North Iredell Raiders
Freedom's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the North Iredell Raiders by a score of 12-7.
Englani Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs.

In other batting news, Kaylee Skinner was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rhiley Buchanan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Freedom lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Freedom's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for North Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freedom will welcome Patton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Iredell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
