Football Recap: Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES vs. Montoursville Warriors
Mount Carmel and Montoursville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mount Carmel had to settle for second. They and the Warriors were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 43-42 defeat. The RED TORNADOES have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Mount Carmel still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Delaney, who rushed for 152 yards and three scores, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Delaney was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Michael Kimsal helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.
While Mount Carmel came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Montoursville: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 47.1%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Jason Klokis, Kimsal, and Chance Swatski, who each logged one passes deflected. Mount Carmel hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.36 or higher in four consecutive games.
Leading Montoursville to victory were Christian Banks and Eli Eck. Banks gained 159 total yards and three touchdowns, while Eck rushed for 116 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. Those 116 rushing yards gave Eck a new career-high.
Mount Carmel now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Montoursville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
As of now, neither Mount Carmel nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
