Baseball Recap: Norte Vista Beats Rubidoux for Their Third Straight Victory

Norte Vista entered their tilt with Rubidoux on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 8-2 victory on Tuesday.

David Sainz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Norte Vista's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-12 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Henderson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Norte Vista: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Montalvo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Norte Vista hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rubidoux struck out nine times.

Norte Vista's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Rubidoux, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17.
