Softball Recap: Taylor Zannacker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hall

Illinois Valley Central won against Galesburg on Wednesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Grey Ghosts didn't even let the Hall Red Devils on the board, marking the Grey Ghosts' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Grey Ghosts haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Emersyn Fleming made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Fleming was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor Zannacker was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. MacKenzie Barton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Illinois Valley Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hall only posted an OBP of .222.
