Softball Recap: Dundalk Wins Going Away Against Lansdowne

Dundalk entered their tilt with Lansdowne on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 23-6. The contest marked the Owls' most dominant win of the season so far.

Makayla Woods was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Justice Smith was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Dundalk was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Dundalk's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lansdowne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dundalk will square off against Kenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluebirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.17 runs per game on average), something the Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lansdowne, they will face off against Western Tech & Environmental Science at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
