Softball Recap: Cedarville Has No Trouble Against Greeneview

Cedarville hadn't done well against Greeneview recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Indians put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-3 victory. The game marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season.

Joscelyn Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayden Rodgers was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Reed, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Cedarville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeneview only managed eight hits.

The victory got Cedarville back to even at 5-5. As for Greeneview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedarville will square off against Fairbanks at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greeneview, they will take on Triad at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
