Basketball Recap: Winchester Thurston Comes Up Short

Winchester Thurston and Neshannock squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Winchester Thurston had to settle for second. They fell 56-44 to the Neshannock Lancers. While losing is never fun, Winchester Thurston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Neshannock is ranked 106th).

Winchester Thurston's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Neshannock, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Winchester Thurston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Neshannock, they will face off against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Northgate's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
