Recap: Amistad Wolves vs. Bassick Lions

The Amistad Wolves can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Bassick by a score of 42-31. The win was just what Amistad needed coming off of a 46-21 defeat in their prior match.

Amistad's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LaShaya Patterson , who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Patterson is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fatema Thomas, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Amistad's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Bassick, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amistad's road trip will continue as they head out to face Harding at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Harding comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Bassick, they will head out on the road to face off against Bullard-Havens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bullard-Havens will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
