Baseball Recap: Washington Now 12-2 over Last 14 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Washington walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Winona Christian Stars on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-6 victory. Considering the Generals have won 20 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Washington got a massive performance out of Turner Hitt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Hitt has posted since back in February. Reid Henderson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Winona Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Washington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Stars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
