Basketball Game Preview: Blue Earth Buccaneers vs. Fairmont Cardinals

Blue Earth is 1-9 against Fairmont since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Blue Earth Buccaneers will host the Fairmont Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Blue Earth is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were outmatched by St. James and fell 74-31. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Saints are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Fairmont came up short against Windom on Saturday and fell 76-65. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Blue Earth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fairmont, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.
