Baseball Preview: Woodhaven Warriors vs. Carlson Marauders

Woodhaven is 10-0 against Carlson since May of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Woodhaven Warriors have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Carlson Marauders at 4:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Woodhaven is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Wednesday, just like they did against Lincoln Park (and have done all season long). Woodhaven's pitcher stepped up to hand Lincoln Park an 11-0 shutout on Monday.

Mike MIller tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Gary Pilgrim was incredible, going 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Adrian Sadiku was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Carlson had just enough and edged Taylor out 3-1 on Tuesday.

Jackson Zachary made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Zachary has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Zachary was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Woodhaven has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Carlson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
