Basketball Recap: Vanlue Takes a Loss

Vanlue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 63-35 loss at the hands of the Leipsic Vikings. The Wildcats lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-21 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Vanlue lost, don't look at Owen Roszman. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and five rebounds. Roszman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Brady Hamilton was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Vanlue's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Leipsic, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vanlue will head out to face off against Ridgemont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leipsic, they are taking a road trip to take on Ada at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leipsic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
