Basketball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 79-27 loss at the hands of the Scott Beavers. While losing is never fun, the Celtics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Beavers are ranked 56th).

Jackson Rumford was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards for Scott. Rumford's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Tarango, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Scott, their record is now 8-2.

Trinity will take on Southeast of Saline in a tournament on Thursday. Southeast of Saline is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. Scott has already played their next match (against Goodland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
