After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Lupton, Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 27-14 win over the Manitou Springs Mustangs. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Valley wouldn't let Manitou Springs keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Valley can thank Andres Villegas and Marcus Van Pelt - Morenz for forcing both of them.

Despite the loss, Manitou Springs still got an impressive performance from Logan Moore, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 73 receiving yards. Moore's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Manitou Springs, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Valley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Resurrection Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 4th. As for Manitou Springs, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 loss vs. Forge Christian on the 27th.
