Basketball Game Preview: Aberdeen Bobcats vs. Hoquiam Grizzlies

Aberdeen and Hoquiam are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Aberdeen Bobcats will take on the Hoquiam Grizzlies at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Aberdeen will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Wednesday, Aberdeen came up short against Forks and fell 59-51. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 23-14 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Aberdeen had strong showings from Jhacob Quezada, who posted 20 points, and Ryker Scott, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Scott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Garcia, who had eight points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoquiam). They took down Kalama 65-49 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Hoquiam now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Aberdeen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Aberdeen came up short against Hoquiam in their previous matchup back in January, falling 66-62. Can Aberdeen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
