Baseball Game Preview: Hermon Hawks vs. Mount Desert Island Trojans

The Hermon Hawks will head out to square off against the Mount Desert Island Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hermon's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Mount Desert Island's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hermon faced off against Ellsworth on Thursday. The Hawks fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hermon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Meserve, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mount Desert Island ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Old Town 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Coyotes since April 26, 2022.

Hermon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mount Desert Island, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
