Recap: Lamar Texans vs. Jersey Village Falcons
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lamar Texans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Jersey Village at home to the tune of 63-0. The victory was just business as usual for Lamar, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Lamar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Reaves led the charge by rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Chaseston Guidry was another key contributor, rushing for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Lamar pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50 points. As for Jersey Village, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
Lamar will face off against Ridge Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridge Point has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 529 points over their last ten matchups. Jersey Village does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
