Softball Recap: Apex Comes Up Short

Apex lost against Holly Springs back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Golden Hawks, falling 18-6.

Leah Kendall was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Kasey Wallace also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Apex dropped their record down to 5-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Holly Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apex will host Green Level at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Gators at the right time seeing as the Gators are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Holly Springs, they will be playing at home against Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Hawks will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
