The Narragansett Mariners will challenge the Ponaganset Chieftains on Thursday. Narragansett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Narragansett is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals last Monday, they were much more limited against Exeter-West Greenwich on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Scarlet Knights by a score of 2-1. The loss was Narragansett's first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Dylan Nollsch, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Ponaganset rose to the challenge on Monday. Everything went their way against the Islanders as they made off with a 5-1 win. Ponaganset might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by three goals or more this season.

The victory (which was Ponaganset's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four matchups. As for Narragansett, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 16-1-1.

Narragansett beat Ponaganset 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September. Do the Mariners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chieftains turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
