Basketball Recap: Amelia County Takes a Loss

Amelia County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by the Buckingham Knights 86-52. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.

Amelia County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Buckingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amelia County and Maggie Walker will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Amelia County is facing Maggie Walker at the right time seeing as Maggie Walker is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Buckingham, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lunenburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckingham will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
